Labuschagne Dropped from Australia's One-Day International Team Versus Team India
The Australian selectors have left out Labuschagne from Australia's three-game ODI series facing India, as in-form Queensland colleague Matt Renshaw earning a surprise inclusion.
Performance Issues Result in Omission
Labuschagne has been omitted from the one-day international squad following scoring just one run in his two batting efforts during the recent series against South Africa in August. He has a top score of forty-seven in his most recent ten ODI batting appearances.
Labuschagne has featured in 68 one-day internationals and scored 1,871 runs at an batting average of 34.64 runs per dismissal, but will now focus on earning a return to the Test side ahead of the Ashes beginning in Perth on 21 November.
Renshaw's Return and Other Squad Changes
Labuschagne has shown signs of a improvement in form with 160 for Queensland in the domestic first-class competition this week, while Renshaw also hit a century for the Bulls in the identical match against Tasmania.
Renshaw is in line to make his first white-ball appearance in the forthcoming series against India after his last inclusion in an ODI squad in 2022.
Renshaw has played 14 Tests with the last coming in India in 2023 but is also hoping for a Test return as Australia search for a fix to their opening batting issues.
